September 11, 2007: Award Winning Documentary on Hezebollah and Terrorism

The documentary "Obsession"  was shown at Christopher Newport University on Monday, September 11, at 7:30 PM in the Gaines Auditorium.

Obsession, "Radical Islam's War Against the West." is a documentary that useimages from Arab TV, rarely seen in the West to uncover the hatred of the militant radicals and their incitement of global jihad.  With the help of experts, including first-hand accounts from a former PLO terrorist, a Lebanese Arab, and the daughter of a martyred guerrilla leader, the film clearly describes the threat to Israel and the West.

Richard Gordon, President of UJCVP, stated that this documentary is "an excellent opportunity for the public to become more educated about the background to the present conflict in Lebanon."

Obsession has won a number of film awards including the best feature film at the Liberty Film Festival.  Michael Medved has said that  "Obsession is one of the most powerful, expertly crafted and undeniably important films I've seen this year. This courageous, utterly gripping expose' deserves the attention of every American -- and merits serious consideration for the Academy Award for Best Feature Length Documentary."

The showing was co-sponsored by Jews And Christians for Israel, United Jewish Communities of the Virginia Peninsula, and CNU Hillel. A panel discussion followed the film.  To see a one minute clip of this movie go to: http://www.obsessionthemovie.com/clips-jihad.php.

Relentless: The Struggle for Peace in the Middle East
, also known as Relentless: The Struggle for Peace in Israel, is a 2003 documentary produced by the pro-Israel media watchdog group Honest Reporting. The film explores the cause of the Second Intifada through an examination of compliance with the Declaration of Principles, otherwise known as the Oslo Accords, by Israel and the Palestinian Authority. It focuses, in particular, on the failure of the Palestinian Authority to "educate for peace," citing reports by Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace on Palestinian textbooks, by showing footage from Palestinian TV which encourages suicide bombing and preaches hatred of Jews and Israelis, and by interviewing Itamar Marcus, the director of Palestinian Media Watch. The film interviews S. El-Herfi, Joseph Farah, Raanan Gissin, Caroline Glick, John Loftus, Sherri Mandel, Yariv Oppenheim, Daniel Pipes, Tashbih Sayyed and Natan Sharansky.     (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
